Most of all I like to be in a good mood.
Movie sets can be a challenging environment, the Script Supervisor is easily caught in the crossfire, therefore needs to be efficient, resolute, and, ideally, calm. In early 2012 I've taken the leap to a digital system that had stolen my heart, and haven't looked back since. It made me faster and more precise, and all the time saved by not having to erase and rewrite, hole-punch, tab, and organize pages is spent focusing on - wait for it - actual continuity. I have detailed and quick answers, my work is stronger, and most of all I can enjoy what I love doing more wholeheartedly and with less stress.
I also wrap in minutes, thus being able to revel in a long, steamy shower once I get home. That's important too.

Multi Camera
The multi cam TV format is like the unicorn of Script Supervising. It is a unique, fierce yet delicate beast.
What I love about multi cam is the raw, theater-esque quality of the job, which makes it a priceless opportunity, for us peeps who live in front of monitors, to take part in a live performance. What that ultimately translates to is you have to be quick as lighting, sharp as barbed wire and precise as a swiss watch. It's the same job you would do on every other show, only on steroids.
On multi cam I use a more traditional paper and pencil system for my editorial notes. No software has yet been able to produce the peaked lines we write on sit-com scripts. But no worries, due to the different nature of the workflow, I am still able to enjoy my relaxing, steamy shower.
Plus most of the time a day at work is laugh out loud fun. Nothing better to put you in that good mood.
